SuperAge widgets on iOS and watchOS do not update in real time. The operating system decides when each widget is refreshed — no app can override this behavior. If your widget shows data that looks older than expected, this is normal and expected.
Why this happens
Apple uses a framework called WidgetKit to manage all widgets on iOS and watchOS. Rather than letting apps update widgets at any moment, WidgetKit works on a timeline system: SuperAge proposes a schedule of future refresh moments, and the OS decides when to execute them based on battery level, how recently you used the app, and overall system load.
On iOS, each widget slot receives a limited refresh budget — typically a handful of updates per hour. On watchOS the constraint is even tighter: complications and Smart Stack entries usually update every 15 to 30 minutes. Lock Screen widgets follow the same schedule as Home Screen widgets.
This limit applies to every app on the platform. SuperAge cannot request an immediate widget refresh, and neither can any other app.
What you can do
Opening SuperAge and pulling down to refresh on the Trainer screen forces the app to fetch the latest data. The next time the OS schedules a widget refresh — within the platform’s normal budget — the widget will display those updated values.
There is no way to make a widget refresh instantly from outside the app. That constraint is enforced by Apple at the OS level.
What the widget always shows
The widget displays the most recent data available at the time of its last OS-authorized refresh. To see your latest data at any moment, open SuperAge directly rather than reading it from the widget.
